To READ or not to READ..Love this topic so much ; just can’t resist sharing it. >>Re-blogged by Berna from Bound and Gagged blog site
A friend of mine sent this article my way. It’s a parent’s reflection on another parent’s choice to censor Harry Potter as she reads it aloud to her five-year-old son.

I highly recommend checking it out because this article brings up some excellent points. First off, if you find yourself so concerned about the material in a book (or anything else) that you have to constantly edit it, don’t read it. Give it a few years. Harry Potter will still be there when the child in question is six or seven or even eight. Secondly, the article points out that this is not about the child’s discomfort, but the parent’s.

Happy to do what I can. I couldn’t agree more. There’s some quote that says you should read to your kids even before they can understand, because then they’ll associate books and reading with love, sharing, and a calm way to end the day (something our anxiety-ridden society could dearly use).

Be sure when you select falling snow by clicking a check in the box, that you go down the page and click “save” or it won’t show up.

Ahhh ok..I thought I saved it but let me go check..Trying not to let it frustrate me! Self taught myself how to do the little I know how to do on here..And I’m not going to do another Christmas decoration here , if I can’t first get the snow to work. I wanted it to snow so bad in Baltimore! It was cold enough to ; but it didn’t. Came back home to mid 70s and not a chance in hell of snow
